Indus OS has been working with Delta ID for the past 6 months to bring something amazing to us!
They are trying to build an Aadhaar authenticated OS which will use biometric like IRIS scanner for securing your phone.
Delta ID provides the most convenient authentication solution to secure your digital ID.
This is a regional OS that aims to cater to the economic, social and regional diversity of the country. Apart from supporting a bunch of regional languages, Indus OS is very simple and innovative.
Karbonn, Intex, Celkon, Elite, etc are some of the smartphone manufacturers who has this Indian OS in their smartphones.
Indus OS now supports 12 Indian languages. Smartphone these days don’t support Indian languages besides Hindi. In a land of such diversity, Indus OS has taken a remarkable step to empower more than 1 billion users who have Aadhaar in their mother tongues.
Previously, Aadhar card was everywhere but smartphones. But this Indian OS will bring them to smartphones as well.
Integration of IRIS scanner from Delta ID into the phone can also be used as an authentication for payments (just like fingerprint sensors)
Rakesh Deshmukh (CEO and Founder of Indus OS) and Salil Prabhakar (CEO and President of Delta ID) shared their views on the partnership.
Rakesh Deshmukh said, ” One of our focus areas in 2017 is to build features and innovations to support Government initiatives, especially Aadhaar-enabled services. We look forward to our partnership with Delta ID, the market leaders in IRIS based authentication technology, and expect the first Aadhaar-authenticated OS this quarter. This OS will be released across our smartphone brand partners and we foresee 100 million users to be using the Aadhaar-authenticated OS by 2020″.
CEO of Delta ID said, ” Our partnership with Indus OS is a step towards strengthening the existing smartphone ecosystem with a secure and convenient biometric technology. We hope the combination of sophisticated IRIS scanning technology provided by Delta ID, with the consumer insights of Indus OS, the innovative and Made-in-India OS can enable faster adoption of Aadhar-based services. This is our first partnership with an operating system. Indus OS created successes with other Government bodies, and together we are best positioned to take this technology to the masses “.
These initiatives are pushing two very important campaigns of the Government – Make in India and Digital India.
I’m very excited about it. What about you?
