Redmi 4

Redmi 4 is a newly launched smartphone which goes on sale today at 12PM.

If you love the sound of new smartphone (just like me) or are planning to buy this phone, let me update you with the specs, pricing and buying option for Xiaomi Redmi 4.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 specifications

Xiaomi Redmi 4 launched in India and goes on SALE today at 12PM

Display

Redmi 4 comes with a 5-inch display. It has a screen resolution of 720 x 1280pixels with ~267PPI and comes with 2.5D glass as well.

Design

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 comes with a very posh look. The front panel has a very neat and smooth design as the fingerprint sensor has been placed on the back panel. The front panel is also complimented by 2.5D curved glass.

Redmi 4 3.5mm jack slot

Along the edges of the phone, you will find the 3.5mm jack slot, Power Button, Volume rockers, speakers and USB port.

Wireless Connectivity

The device is a dual SIM device which supports VoLTE. Besides that, it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4, NFC, A-GPS and microUSB.

NFC supports allows you to control your TV, set-top box, AC, DVD player, etc.

Software

Xiaomi Redmi 4 comes with MIUI 8 that has a special preview version of Android Nougat. When there are ~8% Nougat devices out there, you are quite lucky to be able to get a taste of this software.

Redmi 4 software

In the chipset front, it runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 and Adreno 505 GPU. There are different variants in terms of RAM and storage. They are – 2GB + 16GB, 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB. They come at different prices which I have discussed in the pricing segment.

Camera

The device is equipped with 13MP rear camera. They claim you can shoot like a pro with this camera on your Redmi 4. It has PDAF and can focus in 0.3s. There are a good number of inbuilt filters and beauty profiles that give you many options to shoot an image.

This reduces the need to install another app from Play Store. The higher variants won’t be affected at all by another beauty app, but the 2GB variant would be. These features are a life saver if you are low in RAM and storage.

There is also a 5MP front camera for selfies and video chats.

Battery

Redmi phone mostly comes with unmatched battery specifications. Even the most budget phones have a good battery capacity which is one of the reasons why Xiaomi is a big hit in the country.

Redmi 4 comes with a massive 4100mAh battery. The manufacturers have claimed it to run up to 18days on standby and up to 2days on heavy usage.

Redmi 4 price in India

The phone has 3 different pricing for 3 different variants. They are:

  • 2GB + 16GB is priced at Rs. 6999
  • 3GB + 32GB is priced at Rs. 8999

Why shouldn’t you buy it from Xiaomi’s official website?

Firstly, you won’t be enjoying any of the above-mentioned launch offers.

Secondly, many of my friends have said it’s really tough to return a phone once bought from Mi (dot) com. Whereas, you can return products to Amazon very easily.

However, the above-mentioned reasons are my discretion. If you want to head over to their official website, you may. But don’t forget to share your experience with us.
