Asus Zenfone AR isn’t a new device as it was already launched in Taiwan earlier. What’s new is what offer it brings with it and some other minor details.
In an earlier post, I wrote about Asus and Reliance Jio tie up where they would give some extra data to an Asus smartphone user based on a couple of conditions. According to the tie-up, anyone buying Asus Zenfone AR would get 100GB of 4G data for its Jio Prime users. Every user can do up to 8 recharges.
According to Asus, they are working with Google with Google to deliver the best experience to its users when using Google Tango and Daydream platform. This device falls under premium devices and is priced at Rs. 49999.
Coming to the device, Asus Zenfone AR comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Quad-HD display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440-pixel. The high resolution gives the viewers a better visual while using the Daydream VR feature. The phone has a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on the front panel. The phone has a great build quality and comes in metal.
The device has 5 magnet speakers with High-Res Audio and DTS virtual surround sound. The camera of Zenfone AR is 23MP rear shooter with Sony’s IMX318 lens. The rear camera has motion tracker and can sense the depth in an image. The rear camera is actually made up of 3 cameras.
The rear camera has a dual tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 6p Largan lens, 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization, 3-axis EIS and Laser autofocus. The front camera is 8MP shooter.
Under the hood of the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset clocked at 2.3GHz along with Adreno 530 GPU, 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. There is also an option of using a nicroSD card. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The Zen UI in the device is Zen UI 3.0
The Asus Zenfone AR is powered by 3300mah battery. This battery supports fast charging of Qualcomm i.e. Quick Charge 3.0.
