Earlier: Micromax is launching a curved display smartphone this month

Micromax has been quite active this year. They launched the Evok series in the beginning of the year and Selfie 2 smartphone few days backs. But they are not done for the quarter yet.

Micromax will be launching a new phone series known as the Infinity Series by the end of August. As the post name and series name suggests, these devices will come with curved displays.

The first device would have a 5.7-inch curved display with 9:18 aspect ratio. The device is rumored to be an affordable alternative as compared to Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. However, there would definitely be a difference in terms of user experience.

This device looks like a premium device for the first time from Micromax. Under the hood of the device would be Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset clocked at 2.4GHz, 4GB or 6GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage and expandable storage with microSD slot.

Besides design and specs, the camera section has also been looked into. The phone will be equipped with 16MP rear shooter. There is no news about the front camera yet.

Micromax is finally stepping into the premium market with this device. The other devices that come with Snapdragon 835 are Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30. When it comes to comparison with premium devices, the testers would not leave a single stone unturned.

The pricing of the device would be a huge factor. If they keep it in the premium priced range, the device would have to battle with Note 8 and LG V30. If they lower the price by Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000, the device has to battle with devices like the OnePlus 5 and Honor 8 Pro.

Micromax has a rough road ahead.
