Xiaomi A1 is Android One based phone from Xiaomi

Android One is a franchise of Android. It was Android’s idea to bring the latest of Android to budget phones without having to make the warranty of the device void.

Android One did become quite famous in India. It received the updates almost similar to the premium phones. But obviously, it was not as good as compared to the actual Android and the handsets had some issues (ex. heating issues).

Android is majorly a software company. All the Nexus phones were made in collaboration with some company or the other where the hardware belonged to the latter. However, Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL has been claimed by Google to be made completely in-house.

As of now, Google has decided that Xiaomi will look into the manufacturing side of this device.

Coming to the device i.e. Xiaomi A1, the device specs will be similar to the freshly launched Xiaomi Mi 5X. Reports indicate that the specs would be almost similar. Here are the specifications of Xiaomi 5X

  • Full Metal unibody design with rounded edges
  • 5.5-inch Full HD Display
  • Snapdragon 625 chipset
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB internal storage
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • 3080mAh battery
  • Dual 12MP rear camera with Optical Zoom
  • Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 skin
  • Available color – Black, Gold and Pink

Also, there is not much information on this news. Take the news with a pinch of salt cause these news are very much subject to change.

Xiaomi Mi 5X has been launched in China. There may be chances of the phone not coming to India. Launching it in India with Android One skin would be cool.

I have used Android One for some days when it was active almost 2 years ago. I’m excited to see how this new combination of Android One and Xiaomi turns out to be. How about you?
