Xiaomi is all set to launch a couple of things soon. These things include Xiaomi Mi 6C, Xiaomi Mi 6S and surge S2 chip. Surge is the chipsets that are homegrown by Xiaomi just like Exynos by Samsung.
The Surge S2 chip was known to be available in the third quarter and it seems just about the perfect time to be used in Xiaomi Mi 6S and 6C.
According to the reports of GixmoChina, the Xiaomi Mi 6C will be released in the 4th quarter. The design of the device will be inspired from Xiaomi Mi 6. The screen-to-body ratio will be higher than Mi 6 to give an amazing look to the device. There are chances that it might be similar to Mi 5.
Coming to the camera department, the device will have a dual rear camera just like most of the premium and some of the budget phones. The dual real camera will use a combination 12MP and 5MP lens. The 13MP Sony IMX386 primary SMOS sensor and 5MP lens to capture the depth of the device will give you amazing outputs.
The device will come with Surge S2 chipset (as mentioned above). This chipset will use 16nm TSMC process and will be octa-core with 4 cores running at 2.2GHz and other 4 cores running at 1.8GHz.
Paired with the S2 chipset would be Mali G71MP8 GPU and USF 2.1 flash memory. Like always, there will be 2 variants – 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and 6GB RAM, 64GB storage. The pricing for the variants would be ~Rs. 19000 and ~Rs. 24,000 respectively.
There is still a confusion about the naming of the chipset. Many are claiming it as Surge X1 as well. Even if Xiaomi launches the device by the 4th quarter, we in India will still have to wait till 2018 to lay hands on the device.
