Bixby is Samsung’s smart assistant just like Apple has Siri, Windows has Cortana and Google has Google Now. It became official with Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+.
Samsung will be hosting its Annual Developer Conference on October 18th in San Francisco. It will also be the launch event of Bixby 2.0.
In Bixby 2.0 will be available on third-party devices which includes devices apart from smartphones. Koh Dong-jin, Samsung’s Mobile Business Chief said that the drawbacks of Bixby’s first version will be overcome in Bixby 2.0.

Samsung has revealed that they filed a patent last year for a sensor which could measure air quality by analyzing the particles present in it. This Air Sensor can be a boom for asthma patients.
What remains a mystery is, how will these tiny micro-particles fit into your Samsung Galaxy S9. Samsung has said that the measuring material will be embedded into the AMOLED display. You can see how in the picture below.
Even though Samsung is known to leak all the specs of their devices before the launch, they have been super careful to not spill this patent. It is evident that we will see this Air Sensor in the upcoming flagship phones from Samsung.
The smartphone market has become very very competitive. It’s not like old days when Apple and Samsung ruled the premium phone section untouched. New brands are entering the market every month. The budget section has already been taken over by them.
These brands are slowly moving to premium section now. One of the companies which has been doing increasingly well in their premium phone section is LG. Both their V and G series are doing quite well. There are rumors that LG will launch LG G7 in the first week of January.
With iPhone 8 and iPhone X in the news, can Samsung be far behind? Samsung Galaxy S9 firmware development has started. Two firmware is being developed G960FXXU0AQI5 and G965FXXU0AQI5. The Model Number for Galaxy S9 is SM-G960 and for Galaxy S9+ is SM-G9650 respectively.
Going back in the past, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ firmware started developing at the same time. Moreover, they had the similar model numbers i.e. SM-G950 and SM-G955.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are expected to go be launched in Q1 2018. However, LG is also planning on something. There is a rumour of LG G7 being launched in January. If this is true, Samsung really needs to plans things out accordingly. LG phones are doing quite well whether it be the G series or the V series.
