We didn’t see any upgrade to the fairly popular HTC Desire Eye, which came with a 13MP selfie shooter. It was named “Eye” as the selfie shooter was large and placed right at the centre. For this, it was even called, eye of Sauron.
HTC U11 Eyes
Now before 2017 ends, HTC is reported to bring an upgrade to that phone, with an updated specs. As mentioned in the details leaked by Evan Blass (a well-known leakster), the handset in question will be a mid-ranger, having a sharp eye shape selfie shooter at the centre.
Going with the name, HTC U11 Eyes, I’m expecting the end-product to have dual-selfie shooters, instead of just one, placed at the centre. Will it be called Eyes of Sauron? Meh!
The upcoming HTC Harmony will come to market as the, ahem, HTC U11 EYEs.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 is being said to run the show underneath, coupled with 4GB of RAM. There will be 6-inch screen at front, possibly with the 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset is also tipped to be the earlier leaked HTC Ocean Harmony.
Desire Eye launched back in 2014, was having top-of-the-line SD801 SoC, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. 5.2-inch measuring full HD resolution screen was part of the deal with a non-removable 2400mAh battery.
The handset back then did grab the attention of the selfie nerds but couldn’t do well in the market. Let’s see what happens with its upgraded sibling in 2018 where the HTC’s share is almost on the verge.
The now rumoured U11 Eyes is expected to appear on the shelf officially in the month of December. I think HTC is keeping it as the X-Mas surprise. What do you think?
