Samsung plans to make more foldable OLED panels this year

Samsung has announced that they will focus on OLED panel (besides smartphone) in 2018. Apart from these, Samsung will parallelly focus on 64-layer V-NAND technology and AI/IoT features. There need not be a discussion on how much AI will matter in our lives just like IoT.

With Bluetooth 5.0 in the upcoming smartphones which supports IoT, this feature will surely spread like wildfire. If you don’t know what is IoT, it stands for Internet of Things. According to Wikipedia, it is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enables these objects to connect and exchange data.

Samsung said in a PR – Looking at the mid to long-term, Samsung expects the components business to see demand expand from new applications. For the set business, the company expects to enjoy increased opportunities mainly related to software, connected devices, and service based on AI/IoT platforms.
