Telegram Messenger and Telegram X are back in Apple’s App Store. The Verge reported 4 hours (approx.) that Apple had removed Telegram from their App Store because it made inappropriate content available to its users.
But, Telegram and Telegram X are back at the App Store and the users can resume their activities on these apps.
Besides Telegram, Telegram X had also been removed from the App Store. Pavel Durov, CEO of Telegram said, “We were alerted by Apple that inappropriate content was made available to our users and both apps were taken off App store. Once we have the protections in place we expect the apps to be back on the App store.”
The Verge also said that it was pretty questionable if Telegram apps would return the App Store at all because Telegram came with end-to-end encryption way before any WhatsApp or any other instant messaging app.
Because of the end-to-end encryption, the app was like by many smartphones users across the globe. It goes without saying that it did receive quite a lot of heat from the different governments. The app was also referred as the App of Choice for terrorists! That’s why, Telegram was eventually forced to create a team of moderators in Indonesia when the government threatened to ban the app if the terrorist-related content(s) was not filtered by them.
