An affordable MacBook Air 13-inch is tipped to be set for release in Q2 of 2018. The news is coming straight from KGI Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is not a new name in the rumour mill for the Apple fans.
Affordable MacBook Air 13 2018
With 11-inch MacBook Air already dead, Apple has refreshed the existing 13-inch model once in 2017. The update added improvements in the processor, nothing else.
Lately, Apple has put all its focus on 12-inch model and the MacBook Pro models, leaving the 13 inch MacBook Air unattended for long. So, the upgrade is long due and it will make the fans go crazy.
The new update will definitely bring new processor to the product, faster SSD storage and Retina display, which fans have been asking for long. All these upgrades will definitely make this laptop, a good deal as it will be priced around $1000 or less.
I recently purchased the existing model and I’ve friends owing 4 years older model, all working perfectly till date and receiving regular software updates and patches from the company. The laptops are still working fine but have been outdated for sure when we compared to other family members.
Going by the history of product launches in this category, if this affordable upgrade is coming, then it should be somewhere in Q2 of 2018.
For now, we just have Kuo’s word to rely on and no other official or leaked document to support. But, going by the history of his profile, it’s hard not to believe it.
