Gionee will launch smartphones with FullView Display and Face Unlock

Gionee is all set to launch a bunch of devices in India. The twist in the tale is the availability of the devices; they will be launched offline initially and then (might) be available on online. They will be priced in the budget section from Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 15,000.

According to Gizbot, the new smartphones are expected to come with face unlock and FullView Display respectively. Another source has informed that Gionee is likely to launch two products in India which will be coupled with free data.

Gionee has sent out media invites for the event which states – With an exclusive endeavor to ignite the youthful mind, we cordially invite you to join us to explore and experience a whole new world of Gionee Smartphones – Bigger, wider and Better.

According to Chang David Chang, Global Sales Director, Gionee India said, “We are in the process of restructuring our India team and executing a completely different business model for the brand in the market very soon.”

Gionee is a fairly popular brand in India. They had 2.2% market share in 2012 when they started operating and has grown to over 6% today. They are operating via 42,000 retail outlets across 2200 cities in India.
