A handset with model number X00RD was spotted at Geekbench. This sighting was done almost a week after MWC wherein no Android Go smartphone by Asus was announced. The device was nowhere to be seen since then until a few days back at Wi-Fi Alliance.
On the bright side, the Wi-Fi Alliance listing has the same model number of the device i.e. X00RD. However, there has been no additional information on the same with the listing. The Asus Android Go smartphone was allegedly powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset, 1GB RAM and run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
However, Asus launched their first Android Go smartphone. The device is named Asus Zenfone Live L1. It will hit the Indonesian market on 17th May. It’s expected to be priced at $110 or Rs. 7,500 only.
At such an affordable pricing, Asus Zenfone Live L1 does come with some interesting specs. Zenfone Live L1 will sport a handsome 5.5-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and up to 2TB external storage. On the camera front, there will be a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.
Other features include Bluetooth v5.0 wireless connectivity, a 3.5mm jack slot, 4G LTE, face unlock, 3,000mAh battery and Android 8.1 Go edition. Zenfone Live L1 will come in multiple color variants such as Midnight Black, Rose Pink, White, etc.
The device comes with quite impressive features and even more impressive pricing. Asus is likely to sell the device across the globe.
