The in-display fingerprint sensor is neither a new concept nor the fact that this feature will appear in the upcoming premium phones from the house of Samsung. Since Vivo has already launched Vivo X21 with an in-display fingerprint sensor, it’s not long before all manufacturers catch up.
According to SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The cat is out of the bag, thanks to Qualcomm.
Interestingly, Samsung is said to be working on an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. This system will be integrated with Samsung’s other systems like home devices, home appliances, etc.
Optical sensors have already been integrated by some companies but Samsung is working on developing an ultrasonic sensor. Ultrasonic sensors are much accurate than optical sensors because they create an ultrasonic map which gives a lot of more information as compared to optical sensors. Thus, these sensors are bound to work even when used with wet fingers. Please don’t use wet fingers on your phone.
As is evident, this technology is more efficient and will cost a substantial amount. No wonder they will cost a bomb and will come only in premium phones as of now.
Samsung Galaxy S10 and it’s sibling (Galaxy S10+) will be launched next year in 2019 in (or around CES). There are high chances that these devices would be launched earlier than usual because Samsung allegedly wants to launch their foldable phone at MWC in February.
