Gome Electronics to launch three smartphones in India under 10k

Gome Electronics, a Chinese electronics company is planning to launch three smartphones in India. Besides smartphones, the company will also allegedly launch televisions, home appliances and other consumer electronics in India.

The Indian market is known for being home to many Chinese companies like Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, etc. Here’s another addition to the list.

Gome Electronics is a fully owned subsidiary of Gome Telecom Equipment, listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Gome has over 1700 stores in China and will soon be competing against the other leading smartphone and electronics brand in India.

Gome, the $11-billion Chinese company, has partnered with multi-brand stores across the country to sell their products thereby competing against the existing brands in India like Samsung. TCL, Godrej, Bajaj, etc.

Gome Electronics has roped in Piyush Suri as the head of Indian operations in March 2018. Piyush Puri launched InFocus in India and partnered with Amazon to spread Infocus’ online presence.

Gome will be launching three smartphones in India under Rs. 10,000. The phones will be available both online and offline. To make a place in the Indian smartphone market, Gome has already looped in one of the most loved faces of the Bollywood industry – Ranveer Singh.
