Android 8.0 Oreo was announced by Google in August 2017. The developer preview of Android 8.0 Oreo was already available since March 2017. The major features of Android O are notification grouping, picture-in-picture for videos, better performance and battery as compared to the previous versions, Bluetooth 5 support and many more such features.
An important part of Android Ore is the Android Go (Oreo Edition). It’s a lightweight version of the same update for low spec and low budget phones. This version gives the feel of using stock android on phones with only 1GB RAM.
The premium Samsung smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8 Edge, S9 and S9 Edge have already received the update. The following Samsung smartphones will receive Android 8.0 Oreo update in July:
- Samsung Galaxy A3 2017
- Samsung Galaxy A5 2017
- Samsung Galaxy A7 2017
- Samsung Galaxy J3
- Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro
- Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro
However, this information is for the Turkish market. Do take it with a pinch of salt if you are from a different market. You can expect your device to get the update once it rolls out to any other market.
