The Mi device users have news to feel good, and yes, it’s related to the Android software upgrade. Xiaomi has been working on Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade for its Mi 3, Mi 4, and Mi Note devices. It is hardly any surprise as the company has made its intention official of releasing a Beta version for these three devices.
Well, these three won’t be the only devices to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, as I covered in my dedicated post on the topic, Mi 4i, and Mi Note Pro will also be in the line.
One more thing to add, the newly released Redmi Note 3 is also expected to get the upgrade while the upcoming and one of the most anticipated smartphones of this year, Xiaomi Mi 5 will be booting Android 6.0 based MIUI out-of-the-box.
The MIUI version for this upgrade will be 7, dubbed as MIUI 7, and a member from the company’s software team has already released a snap of Mi 4 running the MIUI 7 5.11.20 OS version. So, it’s totally legit that the software upgrade is in development. But, there is no exact date to confirm its release.
Last month, the company released two devices, Redmi Note 3 and Mi Pad 2, out of which Mi Pad 2 is officially confirmed to be available with Windows 10 OS. Microsoft is also working on releasing a Windows 10 OS for the Mi 4 LTE devices.
So, a lot of software upgrades are in production for now, which is definitely good news, considering the past cult attached to the Android devices.
Not every manufacturer has confirmed its official list for the Android Marshmallow upgrade, but still, you can check out the ones who already did.
Anyways, this was all about the Xiaomi’s plan for the much-needed software upgrade. Mi 5 is expected to release in the month of February, and if that device comes out as the first to feature Android 6.0, then you know how long to wait. Stay tuned!
