Xiaomi sent out invites for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 a few days back and released a teaser for an event to be held on 14th February in India. People were expecting the Redmi 5 to be launched but there seems to be a change of plans and you will be seeing Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 instead.
But do take this with a pinch of salt as it is still not known exactly which device will be unveiled on 14th February. There are speculations that Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus will be Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 for us (global market).
One thing is sure, the device will be a Flipkart exclusive as Flipkart tweeted the same by tagging Gaurav Kapoor which says – Looks like everyone is excited about XiaomiIndia’s all-rounder that’s a 5/5. Something similar was done for Redmi Note 4 as well.
As far as the specifications are concerned, Redmi Note 5 will be launched with a 5.99-inch display with FHD+ resolution and aspect ratio 18:9. Under the hood will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 chipset, Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 skin. The phone is expected to be powered by 4,000mAh battery.
Although a bunch of factors points to the fact that Redmi Note 5 will be launched on 14th February, take the news with a pinch of salt.
